The Honour That Comes With Priesthood - TOPIC: NOT ASHAMED TO BE A SERVANT OF GOD.

Sunday, 2 August 2026

Text

Romans 1:16.

“"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth..."”

MESSAGE

To be a servant of God is the highest honour anyone can receive. It is not a title to hide, but a divine calling to cherish. In a world where faithfulness to Christ is often mocked and godly living is considered outdated, many believers are tempted to conceal their Christian identity. Yet God calls His servants to stand boldly for Him without fear, apology, or compromise.

A servant of God should never be ashamed of the Master he serves. Jesus declared that whoever is ashamed of Him and His words before men, He also will be ashamed of before His Father in heaven. Our lives, speech, conduct, and decisions should openly reflect our allegiance to Christ. Whether at home, in the workplace, in school, in business, or in public office, our identity as servants of God must remain visible through humility, holiness, love, integrity, and unwavering obedience.

The honour of priesthood is not measured by human applause but by divine approval. Moses, Samuel, Elijah, Peter, Paul, and countless faithful servants endured rejection, persecution, and hardship, yet they remained steadfast because they valued God's honour above the praise of men. Their faithfulness became their testimony, and their names remain written in the history of God's kingdom.

Pause and examine yourself sincerely. Do I hide my faith because of fear or embarrassment? Do my words and actions reveal Christ, or do I compromise to gain acceptance? Am I more concerned about people's opinions than God's approval? Remember that those who faithfully honour God will, in turn, be honoured by Him. Let your life boldly proclaim that you belong to Christ, for there is no greater privilege than to be known as a faithful servant of the living God.

As we journey through this month, let us wear our calling with joy, serve Christ with boldness, and never be ashamed to be identified as servants of God.
